A few kilometres from the guesthouse, on a promontory surrounded on three sides by the Vltava River, stands a charming Cistercian monastery, one of the most valuable complexes of Gothic architecture in Central Europe. The place exudes a special peaceful atmosphere, so different from the hectic pace of today's world. It was founded by Přemysl Otakar II a year earlier than České Budějovice.
A great tip for a walking tour is through the village of Plešovice, where it is possible to see miniature towns.
